Age Grade Winner (closest competitor to best time in the world for your age group and gender)
This prize is quite unique to a Marathon event – it provides the opportunity for anyone – any age -any gender any ability to win!
This major prize will be announced at the LAUNCH dinner 19th January 2017. This will be the first time there has been a prize of this magnitude for this type of event in
Australia. The prize is worth “Thousands”.
The Wenlock Olympian Games medals will be back for the winners and placegetters in the Overall Marathon Category. These are very special medals and we are privileged to be the only event outside of England where these can be presented.
We are also introducing the 26km Axedale to Heathcote to add a bit more of a challenge! (there will be a timing mat at the half marathon distance for those that want their times)
AND the 5km Fun Run Walk & Roll and novelty races.
The Quarter Marathon and Mile events return from 2016.
The Ekiden Relay
– the friendship Race Custom designed finisher medals for all team members
Due to its popularity this year the organisers have decided to make the Ekiden Relay the 2017 feature Race. This event is all inclusive and all abilities – means those with a disability or mums with bubs in a pram can participate. So get your team together now! The event will also start in Bendigo and go to Heathcote. No more out and back!
In 2017 there will be more prizes and medals (check out our prize chart)
All participants will receive a customised finishers medal.
LAKE EPPALOCK IS FULL AND WILL STILL BE AT 80% CAPACITY AT THE TIME OF THE EVENT
For those who were a little nervous this year ‘Stock Grids’ will be covered
AND there is more – pre race dinners, twilight markets, entertainment on the Sunday for the family, cycling event on the Saturday if your partner and children might like to cycle the trail – in fact loads of things happening – so plan to make a weekend of it.
