Save the date! Pencil in the 26 - 28 April 2019 for the 2019 O'Keefe Challenge.
Set to be bigger and better than ever, the 2019 O'Keefe Challenge promises to be more than just a race - it celebrates fitness, nature and the community spirit of the Heathcote region.
we are again planning for Marathon (42.2km), Half Marathon (21.1km), 10km, 5km and Mile events for our runners and walkers of all ages, stages and abilities.
The event will again make a hero of the the spectacular O'Keefe Rail Trail as participants follow it from Bendigo to Heathcote. The trail weaves its way through bushland, open fields, farms, and past Lake Eppalock.
Our popular Ekiden Relay will again be inviting teams of seven runners to join forces to complete a marathon distance (42.2km) along the O'Keefe Rail Trail. A key feature of this event is our 'All Abilities category', which is sponsored by Healthy Mates Bendigo, and allows people with a disability to participate in the event and cover the course from start to finish in specially designed pushers.
Due to the hugely popular response last year, the 'Light The Trail' night ride on the Friday evening will be on offer once again. This is a unique chance to join a social ride from Axedale to Heathcote (26km) under your own lights (or maybe even moonlight!).
Entries will open in October 2018.
