About the Heathcote Region

In the heart of Central Victoria and nestled between the stunning McHarg and McIvor Ranges, you will find the charming town of Heathcote.

 

Established in the 1850s after gold was discovered in the area, Heathcote is now known globally for another precious gem – the Shiraz grape! Fast becoming one of Australia’s most loved wine regions, Heathcote is an ideal place to slow down, get back to basics and appreciate the view.

 

Getting to Heathcote
 

Main Event Location: Barrack Reserve, 126 High Street, Heathcote 3523

 

Heathcote is approximately 1 hour 40 minutes or 135 kms north of Melbourne and 45 minutes east of Bendigo.

 

DRIVE: From Melbourne, head for either the Hume Freeway to Kilmore or the Calder Freeway to Kyneton. From these towns take the turn-off towards Heathcote and enjoy a country drive past the paddocks, vineyards and hills to Heathcote.

 

TRAIN & BUS :are V/Line trains regularly travelling to Bendigo from Melbourne. Event sponsor, McIvor Transit offers a regular bus service between Bendigo and Heathcote via Junortoun and Knowsley.
