PREPARING FOR THE WEATHER:
Whether you are an experienced ‘all weather rider’ or not, you must prepare for challenging weather on this ride. Your safety ensures a fun night for you, our volunteers and our event organisers. Therefore please give special attention to clothing & lighting:

Clothing:
Have a quality waterproof jacket and various layers of suitable clothing that can be peeled if need be.
Avoid woollen scarves etc. they are useless & dangerous in the wet. Tights &/leggings should help keep you warm.
Think of borrowing good gear from seasoned riders if you don’t wish to purchase clothing.
If you can prepare a change of dry clothes to be available at Palling Bros then that would be ideal.
Full fingered gloves would be wise.

Lights:
Ensure your lights are in good working order, check the battery life and/or recharge batteries if they are rechargeable. For headlights, we recommend a minimum of 300 lumens, although 700 – 1500 lumens is even better. Think of borrowing good lights from seasoned riders if needed.
Having good quality lights are even more important in the wet.
