If you haven’t experienced the O’Keefe Challenge before you’d be forgiven for thinking it’s just your standard marathon. What you might not know is that our main event day (Sunday 21st April) is a fantastic community day out, perfect for those looking for something to do with their families.

The finish line at Barrack Reserve will be a hub of activity with fun for the whole family as the Heathcote Community Games take place. Presented by Heathcote Community House and generously sponsored by the customers of Community Bank Heathcote & District, this event is free of charge to the whole community–even if you’re not taking part in one of our running or walking events. Bring the family along and try your hand at the rock climbing wall, laser tag, bungee run, Cars slide and the big baller! There’ll be roaming mascots, free giveaways and the Heathcote Lions Club will be keeping everyone fed from their popular BBQ trailer throughout the day.

The kids can also get involved with our popular 1km Kids Dash and 500m Superhero Dash – it’s great fun watching everyone in their superhero costumes! If you’re not a runner you could try our brand new 1.5km Quiz Walk which will be a scavenger style hunt around Heathcote. Register your team to find a series of clues as you meander around the township. You’re also welcome to walk our 10km and 5km events.

On Friday 19th April our ‘Light the Trail’ Night Ride takes place from Axedale to Heathcote finishing up with an evening of fun at Palling Bros Brewery. So if your kids are over 11 years old, decorate your bike, dress up and join us for a great social event.

Don’t forget that all funds raised go towards our charity partner Heathcote Dementia Alliance who are working to create new ways of caring for people living with dementia.
